Malyce Collins: Involved Student and Environmentalist Devotee

Malyce Collins has made her presence known on Florida State University’s campus. As a graduating senior, she is heavily involved in her major of Environment and Society, pursing her interests in environment and teaching throughout campus.

Originating from Boston, GA, Malyce Collins is a senior at FSU boasting some incredible accomplishments. Majoring in Environment & Society, Malyce has a passion for environmental improvement and education. She explains her passion for the environment as  “it is important that we not only care for our world and make up for the wrongs done to it but to also educate others about the issue and to inspire the younger generations to be better than us and to care for the world in which they live.'' She is truly an inspiration for all students pursuing environmental advocacy and education; as well as a beacon of hope for our changing global environment. 

In addition to being a Phi Eta Sigma member, Collins is heavily involved on Florida State’s Campus. She’s held membership positions since her freshman year at FSU and currently holds officer positions with many environmental clubs on campus. Currently she is the G4 Coordinator for Sustainable Campus, an FSAB co-leader with the Center for Leadership and Social Change, and an officer with the Environmental Service Program. Moreover, she holds a membership in the Williams Scholars Program.

As a seasoned student at FSU, Collins has some words of advice for incoming FSU and Phi Eta Sigma students. She emphasizes it’s important “to remember that you don’t have to know exactly what it is you want to do in life. Part of the reason for college is to explore your options, to find your passions, and to discover paths you may want to take in life”. Her positive outlook on student life and the future, stands as an encouragement to not only incoming students, but all students on FSU’s campus. Collins is an enthusiastic, versed student with a passion for life and her studies. With her motivated mentality, Collins has a bright future ahead of her.
